Hera is the Greek goddess of marriage, and this delicate silk shawl will get your marriage off to a beautiful start.
This one-of-a-kind wrap is handcrafted from lustrous Margilan silk- a beautiful open-weave silk from a small town in Uzbekistan. A fine layer of soft merino wool and shiny bamboo fiber, highlighted with iridescent strands of nylon add texture and and an elegant swirl pattern.
It's size, drape, and soft white color make this wrap very wearable- whether it's dressed up for your special day or dressed down with a stylishly casual outfit. It measures 86 inches long by 17 inches wide (218 cm x 43 cm wide).
Felting is a time- and labor-intensive process. Wool fibers are laid out in fine layers, wetted with warm soapy water, and gently agitated until the fibers tangle together. In the case of NUNO FELTING, the fibers work their way through silk or other fabric. Continued agitation causes the fibers to shrink down, puckering the silk and forming a sturdy and durable fabric. The scarf can be hand washed in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. After rinsing, excess water can be squeezed from the scarf by wrapping it in a clean towel. Then hang or dry flat and press with a warm iron.
